Events included in the 2003 year cruise will include Poohsticks at Days Lock, lots of yummy dinners out, a dinner dance, a barbecue at Cookham Island, visits to other Yacht Clubs, quizzes and competitions, Champagne receptions, and if that's not enough for you we end at Henley just as the ATYC competition starts.
Venues include Shillingford Bridge Hotel, The Beetle & Wedge, Chef King Chinese Restaurant, The Barley Mow at Clifton Hampden, The Swan at Pangbourne, The Bull Inn at Sonning, The Royal at Wallingford, The Angel on The Bridge, Boulters Lock Restaurant and The George & Dragon at Marlow.
Cruise packs will be made available prior to the briefings and will include flyers and menus for all events, along with mobile phone numbers for other cruisers, VHF channel to be used, important information and things to bring as well as a brief history of the stops and places of interest. Social members and non-members are welcome at all of the events on the cruise, with the Commodore's permission. If you don't want to wait for a cruise pack, just print off the Cruisers Daily Schedule below, along with any of the menus, flyers and any other papers that you think you might want to make use of up river. There are still a couple of facts to be confirmed on the cruise - dress codes and the events to be organised at Harleyford, so make sure you don't print it off before these pages are filled in.
Check out the website on a regular basis to see the latest menus and other information for your cruise, and don't forget to book using our new e-booking form. Just settle down in front of the computer, surf the pages to decide where you want to go, and fill in the form to the accompanyment of your favourite music and a tipple of your choice. For the "do your own thing" nights, check out The Up River Angel for places to eat, available moorings and things to do.
If you are concerned that a lot of the venues appear to be pubs, don't be. The organisers would not take you to a grotty, smoky pub with awful food and out of control children. All the places chosen are comfortable and clean, with good food and service, and no sign of nicotine stains!
