Slipways

There are two types of slipways - commercial, which are generally attached to a boat yard, and are used to lift boats for work to be done, and public, which are generally open air, open access slipways. If you just want to drop a little boat in the water, you obviously don't need to use the facilities at a boatyard. If, on the other hand, you need a big boat taken out of the water, you would want to use a commercial slipway with qualified, insured people to help you. On the public list, adjacent businesses or landmarks have been included in the address to give you an idea of where the slipway is.
